A modern Chinese brass censer, featuring a reproduction Xuande reign mark. The small, tripod vessel is crafted from brass or bronze and stands on three pointed feet. Its round body is decorated with low-relief avian figures amongst stylized foliage, while the two loop handles are adorned with a scroll pattern. The underside bears a raised rectangular cartouche with the Chinese characters ‘大明宣德年製’ (Dà Míng Xuāndé Nián Zhì), translating to ‘Made in the Xuande reign of the Great Ming Dynasty.’ Immediately below this, the English phrase ‘MADE IN CHINA’ is impressed into the metal.11.5cm wide, 10cm tall
