An Arthur Osborne Ivorex wall plaque, titled ‘The Busy Welsh Woman of Llanberis’. This oval-shaped decorative plaque, crafted from a molded composition material known as Ivorex, dates from the early 20th century, likely around 1930. The relief depicts a naturalistic genre scene of a smiling Welsh woman, dressed in traditional attire including a tall hat, seated and operating a spinning wheel within an interior setting with some outdoor elements visible. The front is inscribed “The Busy Welsh Woman of Llanberis, ” along with faint initials, possibly “G.S.” The reverse confirms its origin with the markings “IVOREX.”, “COPYRIGHT IN ALL COUNTRIES”, “ARTHUR OSBORNE”, and “MADE IN ENGLAND, ” accompanied by a faintly visible date, likely “1930,” along the edge. The plaque retains its original hanging cord. 17cm
