An Arthur Osborne Ivorex wall plaque depicting ‘Mrs. Bardell’ from Charles Dickens’ *The Pickwick Papers*. This oval-shaped, high-relief molded composite plaque features a genre scene of a woman in historical attire, holding a broom within a domestic interior, complete with a fireplace, chair, and table. The material has a creamy, bone-like finish with darker tones accentuating the relief details. The front lower edge is inscribed ‘M$^rs$ Bordell’. The reverse is impressed with ‘IVOREX’, ‘OSBORNE, ‘, ‘COPYRIGHT, ‘, ‘MADE IN ENGLAND, ‘, and ‘F. & C.O. BURNHAM, ENG.’. A braided cord is attached for hanging. 12.5cm
