The rectangular plaque features a hand-tinted architectural scene depicting a grand external staircase and building, rendered in a picturesque style. Below the relief, the subject is clearly identified as “The Norman Staircase Canterbury”. The reverse is marked “IVOREX”, “OSBORNE-COPYRIGHT”, and “MADE IN ENGLAND”.
