Description
A set of glazed earthenware kitchen canisters produced by Staffel Steingutfabrik, Germany. The collection comprises four large cylindrical canisters and one smaller canister, each designed with lobed vertical corners and fitted lids topped with prominent arch-shaped handles. The decoration is transfer-printed in blue, featuring a wave-and-scroll border at the shoulder and a repeating geometric triangular border at the foot. Each vessel is labelled in Dutch for specific kitchen contents: Vermecelle, Ryst, Suiker, Sago, and Peper. The bases of the canisters are marked with blue-printed characters reading Dec. 705. and a circular stamp containing the script characters Staffel beneath the number 18.
