Description
A vintage British shooting stick manufactured by Mills Munitions Ltd of Birmingham. This item serves a dual purpose as both a walking aid and a portable spectator seat. The folding handle is constructed from cast aluminium alloy, designed to hinge open into a saddle-style seat. The outer portions of the handles are bound in dark brown leather with decorative stitching to provide a comfortable grip. The shaft is made from a solid piece of polished wood with a warm medium-brown finish. The base of the stick features a circular metal ground plate, or basket, designed to provide stability on soft terrain, ending in a tapered metal spike ferrule. The metal casting at the hinge is clearly stamped with the maker marks MILLS MUNITIONS LTD and BIRMINGHAM.
