Description
A hand-painted Bossons Ivorex relief plaque, likely sculpted by A. Osborne, depicting ‘The Old Curiosity Shop, London’, circa 1925. This rectangular plaque features a three-dimensional representation of the building immortalized by Charles Dickens, with small figures positioned around its exterior. It is crafted from a composite material identified as ‘Ivorex’ and incorporates an integrated frame and a flat backing board fitted with two metal eye hooks for hanging. The reverse bears a gold foil label stating ‘© BOSSONS, ‘ ‘Made in England, ‘ ‘Hand painted, ‘ and ‘COPYRIGHT RESERVED.’ The item is housed within its original cardboard packaging, making it more scarce. 21×15.5cm
