Osborne Ivorex 'The Artful Dodger' Relief Wall Plaque
Description
An Osborne Ivorex relief wall plaque depicting ‘The Artful Dodger’. This oval, hand-painted plaque is crafted from a composite material, likely plaster or resin, and features a three-dimensional representation of the character from Charles Dickens’ *Oliver Twist*. He is shown in period attire, wearing a hat, long coat, and waistcoat, and holding a pipe, against a textured background suggestive of an urban setting. The color palette primarily consists of earthy tones, including browns, creams, and ochres, with a touch of red on the figure’s cravat. A braided cord is attached at the top for hanging. The reverse side is stamped with the marks “IVOREX”, “OSBORNE-(COPYRIGHT)”, and “MADE & COLOURED BY HAND IN ENGLAND”. 12.5cm
