Description
This lot comprises a varied collection of ceramic tableware and functional items. Included is a group of Royal Worcester Strawberry Fair flameproof porcelain, consisting of two teacups, two saucers, a small twin-handled bowl, and a fluted circular tart dish. These pieces feature transfer-printed designs of trailing strawberries and butterflies with turquoise-coloured rims and bear the Royal Worcester backstamp. The collection also features a Mason’s Patent Ironstone China gravy boat in the Strathmore pattern, decorated with a floral bouquet and a scalloped rim, bearing a blue transfer factory mark with registration number 835741. An oriental porcelain lidded sugar bowl is included, decorated with hand-painted birds and blossoms, featuring a flower-form finial and hand-painted characters to the base. Further items include a rectangular earthenware dish with a central floral spray and green sponged border marked Bristolin to the reverse, a large shallow stoneware bowl with a mottled blue glaze and primitive central design, and a heavy unglazed ceramic apothecary mortar with a wooden-handled pestle.
