Description
A limited edition watercoloured serigraph on paper by the artist Lauren, dated 1983. The architectural study depicts a row of Victorian-style brick terraced houses featuring prominent gables and bay windows, identified as being located on Gerrard Street East in Toronto, Canada. The work combines the fine black outlines of a serigraph print with loose, hand-applied watercolour washes in tones of green, ochre, and red. The piece is numbered 44/125 and inscribed Watercoloured Serigraph in pencil to the lower left margin. It is titled Gerrard St. East to the lower centre and signed Lauren 83 to the lower right. The work is housed behind glass within a cream double-mount and a simple dark-stained wood frame. The verso is sealed with brown paper and fitted with a horizontal hanging wire. 59x51cm
