Description
A novelty fine china teapot produced under the Christopher Wren brand, designed in the form of a traditional two-storey English pub. The teapot is titled The Dick Turpin, as indicated on the signboards located beneath the eaves of the pitched, tiled roof. The body is decorated in high relief with scenes referencing the legendary highwayman; one side features a stagecoach pulled by four horses with multiple passengers, while the opposite side shows a solitary figure in a green coat at an outdoor table next to ale barrels. The spout is accented with moulded green foliage, and the handle is uniquely formed as a flintlock pistol. The lid integrates into the roofline and features a brick chimney finial. The item is accompanied by its original presentation box.
