Description
A brass pedestal stand, likely intended for use as a kettle stand or a raised fireplace trivet, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The square top plate features a central pierced eight-point sunburst motif, framed by embossed fan-shaped scrollwork at each corner. The edges are finished with a downturned, scalloped gallery with pierced geometric cutouts. The top is supported by a lathe-turned baluster stem which terminates in a weighted, stepped circular base. The internal assembly consists of a central threaded iron bolt and nut, visible on the underside. No maker marks or inscriptions were identified during inspection. 25cm Tall.
